I created "AREA 51," an interactive AR game, as part of TikTok's exclusive effects hackathon group. The game, inspired by the trending fascination with aliens, involves a playful alien abduction scenario where players must abduct humans appearing on their screen while avoiding animals. The game mechanics were developed using Effect House, incorporating facial tracking and collision settings to create an immersive, interactive experience. The design process began with detailed storyboarding and defining the game’s interaction logic, which included lives, scoring systems, and event scenarios. I developed placeholder images initially to set up the visual scripting and later replaced these with familiar visual assets to finalize the game. This ensured a seamless and engaging gameplay experience.

Featured throughout the Creator Atrium at VidCon, "AREA 51" allowed creators to interact with the effect, significantly enhancing attendee engagement. The game's popularity and innovative design led to it being named as the runner-up in the hackathon, and it remains in the top 5% of effects on TikTok’s platform.
